Victoria Falls is one of the Seven Natural wonders of the World. Neither the highest nor widest in the world, it is claimed to be the largest. The claim is based on the width of 5,600 feet (more than 1 mile) and a height of 360 feet (Niagara Falls, my home, is 173 feet), forming the largest falling sheet of water. I kept telling every one that Niagara Falls was prettier... I wasn't believed.
After arriving at the Savanna Lodge, we unload our gear and head for our first view of the Falls. Since the water is high, the Falls is covered in a heavy mist. We walk through the park attempting to photograph what we can. After departing the Falls viewing area, some of us head towards the bridge that connects Zimbabwe and Zambia. At the mid-point I step into Zambia making me eligible to place a stick pin in Zambia's location on my travel map. At the bridges mid-point is the buggie-jump which Soon and Soey will launch themselves tomorrow afternoon.
Our last night together is a buffet dinner at fine hotel. We talk, take pictures, award our guides with monetary thanks and head back to the Savannah...the trip is officially over and it was quite the adventure.
A special thanks to Morrison, our driver and lead guide, Yolanda (Yo-YO - ass't guide and one hell of a cook, and Micke, as helper to YoYo. What a great...great crew...THANK YOU..............THANK YOU!!
